FirmStack stories

The next court date belongs to the whole team

An adjournment changes the diary, the preparation and the matter record. Keep those next steps together.

An adjournment is more than a date

When a hearing is adjourned, someone must record what happened, enter the new date and decide what needs to be done before then. If only the lawyer who attended court has the date, the rest of the team waits for a handover.

Record the outcome while it is fresh

FirmStack lets a lawyer log the court outcome from a phone. The new date goes into the diary, a file note stays with the matter and preparation tasks go to the matter team. The shared diary brings hearings, filings and rulings across matters into view.

When a court is not sitting because of a holiday, vacation or strike, the firm can mark affected dates together and create the follow-up work to obtain new dates.

Make the handover visible

In the pilot, try logging one fictional adjournment. Ask who should see the new date, who owns preparation and how the team confirms that the client has been updated. A useful diary is one that helps the work move, not just one that stores dates.
